Does Anyone Get A Severe Headache After Coughing Hard?

I get severe headaches after coughing hard. The headaches last from a few minutes to and hour or so. This is something new for me.

Good afternoon everyone
Dr told me when I'm coughing I'm not getting enough oxygen to the brain
Which might be the cause of headaches
Since I've been doing
Pursed lipped breathing exercises more often
The headaches have stopped

Yes,I do, these headaches seem different then a regular headache

It's relatively common, and has to do with the fact that our blood pressure peaks during those coughing spells. It's something you should let your pulmo know about. There's not much you can do about it, but it does occasionally lead to passing out. Just be aware.

I found out when I went to respiratory therapy
That I was a retainer of c02
So until I could release the c02 nothing would work
Think of your lungs as sponges
When they are full
Nothing else goes in
Meds don't work right
Because they are not getting to the diseased
Part of the lungs
Remember as a kid blowing bubbles in milk
It helps release the c02
Get a hard plastic bottle with a lid
And a straw
Fill the bottle half way with room temperature
Filtered water
Inhale through your nose
Exhale into the straw slowly
Using your diaphragm or belly
Making bubbles in the water
Do it before you take any meds
Start with 5 minutes
10 times a day
First thing in the morning when I get up
And the last thing I do before bed
Keep the straw in the bottle
Keep the lid on it
Carry it wherever I go
It taught me
Pursed lipped breathing
So the more I use it the better I will feel
Helps with anxiety and panic
And controls breathing
So I'm not hyper ventilating

Slow and steady we go
Prayers go out for us all
Never alone
