I Have Been On Steroids And Helped For The Four Days But As Soon As I Stopped Them, Cough Was Back. Any One Any Advice?
I was on 63 prednisone plus 3 rounds of antibotics since christmas eve. I think the bronchitis is finally gone.
I do a 5-day steroid regime every 21 days. I will for the rest of My life. While I'm on the regime, I have to use My nebulizer. If You have a nebulizer, while You're on the steroids use it as it will help the steroids do their job.
When I was first introduced to steroids, I had just been diagnosed with COPD. I had to take a lot in a short time. I felt great for the better part of 2 years. One day I suffered a severe episode, had to go to the ER and the DR.'s there put Me on steroids for 5 days. I feel so much better, for a while. then it would start over. This went on for 3 years about 6 months apart at first. When I was hospitalized 2 times about 6 weeks apart, about 3 years ago, the ER Dr. suggested I be put on a monthly steroid therapy. I told My Specialist Dr. and He agreed. Since then, every 21 days I feel the strong need for the regime to begin. It takes a total of 6 days till I'm completely better but it only last for 2 weeks and a day. It is something I have gotten used to doing and feeling. I hope this information helps You. :)
4days probably wasn't long enough. Check back with the doc. Hugs
I have cronic bronchits and when it hits I get it bad. I started christmas eve and went 3 rounds of different antibotics and 63 prednisone pills (my spelling is a little off tonight) anyway you have to stay ahead of it or it will turn into pneumonia. Take care
If you had bronchitis I would suggest going back to the dr. You probably need more.
