@A MyCOPDTeam Member - I agree with @A MyCOPDTeam Member. I'm on 24/7, sleep with a wedge pillow and use Breathe Rite strips on my nose every night. Mucinex does really help me - I vary but the Mucinex D really helps with my congestion. Double check with your doctor. I vary the settings on my concentrator at home and also for the cylinders I use to go out and about. Hope you can get the sleep problems resolved. There is a concentrator that detects that one is not breathing and delivers a dose of O2. Good luck my friend. Make sure you've got the "right" doctor!! It can make a substantial difference. Take care.
You must keep an average o2 level in your system they should tell you what' s best for you eg. mine is level 3 at nite and level 3 when I exert myself during the day. We all have problems with congestion because you are blowing cold dry air into your nose a humidifier may help, don't skip your o2 it is like meds if you skip it eventually you will have to increase it to get back to where you started.
The nasal congestion - I just started using the Fred Meyer version of Flonase. So far its amazing. I'm grateful Freddy's has a slightly cheaper version. And I do use Breathe Rite every night. Please don't forget the O2, its critical once you're on it!!!!!
Know this late, but I get up really congested almost all the time, there been time I've fallen asleep without o2 on and wake up without the congestion. I got a hospital bed over the weekend that was given to me so I could sleep upright more and hopefully it helps me out, plus I'm taking musenex also at night to see if will help
It also help to use saline nasal spray, or prescription nasal spray. Sometimes mucinex helps. I would not even consider not using my oxygen unless the doctors suggested it.
