Do Any Of You Use Or Have Used A Portable, Home Non-invasive Ventilator?
If you have used or do use one for COPD or emphysema, have you realized any long or short term relief when off it or is the relief only as long as you're using it? A rep for a medical company wants my doctor to prescribe one, claiming the ventilator will expand my lung capability and help remove carbon dioxide build-up and lessen shortness of breath. my portable and bedside are nebulisers.I use my spiriva once a day.
Iuse one only at nite or whenever lying down to rest. I have an nerologic issue affecting my muscles and nerves which also affects my chest and back muscles iam no aware if it hps my co2 lels or not. I use it for putting air in. When I go in for an adjustment it is to make the pressure stronger,to add more. They did that this time and also added o2
I had a Trilogy 100 in home and I cant say enough good about it.
I use an non invasive ventilator(type of bipap because of sleep apnea. central and obstructive. I have a paralyzed diaphragm on one side and I have muscle atrophy. The bypap saved my life. it sets on my night table beside bed. I use it whenever I laydown. it breathes for me. with help from me.
