Hi Kenneth. My DOC recently gave me a sample of the 200 strength Trelegy also. He suggested I keep it as a spare. 🤑. You are correct that this version has only been " FDA approved " for ASTHMA use so far. They are probably doing trials to get approval but I already know the answer. And since most definitions of COPD include several degrees of Respiratory conditions, it may not matter to just give it a try. Your Doc gave it to you for a reason. 😉😉

Considering the 200 micrograms of that steroid compared to a low dose Prednisone of 10 milligrams ( = times 50 ) every day, the puffer dose is really like taking a TicTac for Bad breath.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member You're right 200mg is the dosing for Asthma (For patients with COPD: TRELEGY 100/62.5/25 mcg is the only strength indicated for treatment of COPD. For patients with ASTHMA: Either strength—100/62.5/25 mcg or 200/62.5/25 mcg—can be the starting dose).
Maybe you also have Asthma? Some COPD patients suffer from both COPD and Asthma.

I can't remember what the method is called, but all drugs operate in a certain manner and often times a drug that was designed for a specific function for a specific disease can be used for other purposes besides the disease it is associated with, because of the characteristics of the drug and how it works. It is a common practice.

I use Trelegy 200mcg. My pulmonologist prescribed because the 100mcg wasn't doing what it should. So far, it's working fairly well.

My understanding is that Trelegy 200mg is only for asthma that's why I asked.
