Thank you RolandO. I can’t breath on oxogen stage 4 emphazema/Copd but don’t cough . Doctors want me to cough as it appears I have a build up of mucus in the bottom part of my lungs . If I could cough I could , cough up the mucus .
Anyone experience this ? Or suggestions. Thanks

I had same issue - not coughing (I’m in severe stage n still smoking) - so impossibly hard to quit still grieving loss of 2 children but a Dr suggested pot to initiate the coughing

Thanks Dominique but I have never coughed , only 8 yearsp ago when i was admitted to hospital with what they initially thought was pneumonia and was diagnosed with COPD / Emphysema since then out of breath and on oxygen but no coughing. Thanks

My "coughing" is a sign of Dehydration. The COPD Stages define how much medicine should be used to maintain clear breathing passages (aka produce less coughing). NOT coughing is a good thing! 😉
Apart from obvious OBSTRUCTION(s) - Mucus buildup, swallowed food particles, fluids down the "wrong pipe" - most COUGHS probably escape a rational explanation. YOU have stumped the Docs on this One, indeed:
