Thank you RolandO. I can’t breath on oxogen stage 4 emphazema/Copd but don’t cough . Doctors want me to cough as it appears I have a build up of mucus in the bottom part of my lungs . If I could cough I could , cough up the mucus .
Anyone experience this ? Or suggestions. Thanks

I had same issue - not coughing (I’m in severe stage n still smoking) - so impossibly hard to quit still grieving loss of 2 children but a Dr suggested pot to initiate the coughing

Thanks Dominique but I have never coughed , only 8 yearsp ago when i was admitted to hospital with what they initially thought was pneumonia and was diagnosed with COPD / Emphysema since then out of breath and on oxygen but no coughing. Thanks

No worries, Eleanor. You can find other videos online explaining the Huff Cough technique and of using a PEP device to "force" a cough reflex and expel excess Mucus. But again, staying hydrated give the best resolution in my experience. The only time I had excess mucus in the lower lung it was result of double Pneumonia - requiring a 3 week hospital visit in ICU! 🥴🤕 They kept a saline drip connected the whole time!!
