Found A Mass
Hi, it has been a long time since I have been on here. Guess I had my head in the sand, hoping it would all be a bad dream.
Now they have found a mass in my lung, upper left lingual at 3.3 mm. I am in the process of getting the us to have the needle biopsy since I cannot have any anesthesia.
Has anyone had this? Did it turn out good? Does anyone have any information?
@A MyCOPDTeam Member. π, in 2022, I had a CT scan, and a mass of 19.4 was found on the lower right lung. I was about 8 weeks post covid and about 3 weeks post flu. I was 2 days into roxithromycin and still not able to walk far, my friend had to wheel chair me into the scan. When the doctor phoned a week or so later and told me about the mass, I wasn't surprised since I'd been recently so unwell. The doc wanted a further scan, but this time, a PET scan , about 3 weeks later. I was confident that mass was a lingering infection, and by the time I had the second scan. It would have been dealt with by the roxithromycin. My daughter was more worried about it than I was. I didn't see the sense of worrying and making myself more unwell about something that may not eventuate and focused on healing from the recent illness. I was right and the mass had shrunk considerably.
It may be something, or it may be nothing at all. Try to stay as positive as possible until you know for sure what you are dealing with.
Sending loads of healing hugs and love π€π€π€π€
I had an unknown in my lung. I had a needle biopsy but they could not determine what it was. That was at least 5 years ago. It still shows in my scans but my pulmonologist does not call much attention to it. We are not the same, just donβt get ahead of your test results. You will have plenty of time to deal with the results. Best wishes !!!
Hi Karen10, I did have a needle biopsy. Must admit it wasn't fun but produced good results. No cancer, fatty tissue! Maybe the same for you?π€ππ»
Hello, @A MyCOPDTeam Member. I don't know enough about cancer and biopsies to offer any opinions, but I did look up the size of a mm. Mayo Clinic says doctors don't usually measure tumors in MMs, but in CMs. A MM is 1/10 the size of a CM.
1 CM is the size of a pea. 1MM is much smaller. So this must be pretty small even though it's 3.3. I have had cysts in my breast and some in my lungs. There was never anything cancerous. Never had any tumors to date.
The way I try to handle things like this is to find out all hopeful, positive things that I can and hang onto them. Praying for good health and strong faith for you. Hugs
Healing prayers lifted!
