Last year I kept getting sick and every time I go to emergency room they put me under for days. They said I would fight them. I wouldn't remember any of it

Being intubated is not an experience any of us would choose and if you're conscious when they do it, I expect you would fight! I've been intubated several times, but it's been for surgical procedures and I was well out of it before they started. They've always taken the tube out before I was conscious, so I've never waked up with the tube still in. I don't know how I'd react if that happened.

Barbara, awww tht is awful! Do you have a family member tht can be with you when you go to the hospital and they can ask questions etc? It doesn’t sound right! Do you see a Pomologist (lung Dr) ? Are you on puffers as with the right meds you should have good days… And signing a do not resuscitate, when your not with it doesn’t sound right either. You did the best thing ever… no more smoking! What about a different hospital.?

Let me tell you I'm not happy with the medical field that we have here in Lakewood and Tacoma not all of them but St Clair hospital is one of them. They have good doctors and good nurses but something's not right about that hospital. Alan Moore TG they're good hospitals I think. But I have been through excuse my language hell and back through this disease and it just keeps getting worse and worse I quit smoking I quit doing everything they told me to do well almost it took me a little while and now they're trying to drop the trying to throw the ball I guess cuz they try to refer me to hospice in hospice is 6 months or less if you're dying. I'm 53 years old I don't plan on dying over COPD
