Power Outage

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lincoln, CA

My power went out and I was running out of my back up batteries. Then after 2 days it came back on. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do?Because I was in a desperate panic about running out of back up power.

Also power Co. Will bring a generator out to you to use until power comes back on.

Call your power company and explain the situation. Also your oxygen supplier but I don't know if that will do any good. You could ask your doctor that ordered the oxygen to call the power company and tell them that you will be needing power or extra oxygen if there is an outage. You could also practice your pursed lip breathing too. Hope one or moreof those suggestions help @A MyCOPDTeam Member

Calling the electric co is an excellent idea. You can probably also get your DME to deliver large tanks that will last a long time for you to keep for emergencies.

I am registered with the electric company as being an oxygen user. Whenever we loose power they call me to make sure everything is ok.
