Rib Pain From COPD?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Alfreton, UK

Cleared an infection using rescue meds about a week ago but today my ribs/lungs feel really bruised.
I was convinced that I'd got visible bruises but, when my wife looked there was no sign so, I'm assuming, it's the lungs rather than ribs.
Not felt this for a long, long time. Is there anything I should be doing or drugs I should be taking, please?

Thank you for your answers.
Exercise. Today I'm planning a (electric) bike ride of around 12 miles including about 600ft of assent. I walk/cycle quite a bit to keep my lungs working
Coughing. Quite oddly, before COPD diagnosis (2011) I had a VERY distinctive cough but, after that (and stopping smoking) the cough disappeared. Its unusual now to even cough during an exacerbation!

The lungs don't have pain receptors, so they can't be painful. However, the muscles in the rib cage area can become very overworked and sore from contunuous coughing
