Do COPD Patients Experience Harsh Coughing As They Get Worse?
I have never had a problem with coughing as far as my COPD is concerned. I was diagnosed in 2007. Lately I was told my COPD has progressed to severe. I have a cough that just won't quit. Is this because of the COPD progressing to severe?
If your cough has recently begun and is different from your usual symptoms, it could be the beginning of an exacerbation of your COPD. See your doc or go to urgent care to get treatment. Don't wait until you're really sick and need the ER and or a hospital bed.
I was prescribed Montelukast tablets (one at night) which really helped reduce the coughing.
