Some people with COPD do have trouble sleeping. If you do, it's a good idea to discuss this with your PCP or your pulmonologist or both to see what treatments could be helpful. It's important that COPD patients get enough rest so they can remain active for as long as possible. COPD does not interfere with sleeping, but the anxiety and depression that often accompanies it can and it's important for that to be identified so that appropriate treatment can be determined. Fear of not waking up is not uncommon among people with COPD, but can be treated.
