Check with your doctor to see if your problem could possibly be what is called Schatzki’s Ring. I had a problem with it back in 1992.

Sometimes thick mucus builds mucinex or anything with guaifenesin can help with the throat feeling tight. Also, lots of water to thin it out and allow it an easier consistency to help the issue. A tight throat might be a little anxiety, too. With breathing issues anxiety can pop up from time to time out of nowhere but a lot of times it happens when going out of our comfort zone into the crazy world or getting up quickly and taking off walking too quickly for our oxygen to be maintained at a comfortable level. Maybe just slow down and remember to breathe and when you notice the tightness and breathing issues coming back find something mindless to do while you rest a sec and breathe. Having a brainless task to turn to helps get your mind off the feeling of certain panic and I have noticed that something to do with my hands helps me focus on anything but the dread of "passionate" breathing.
I feel like there is a forever convo going on inside my head with my instincts wanting to go one direction when my breathing is challenged and my cognitive reasoning voice is arguing with instinct to quit panicking and just breathe and quit freaking out that it is all going to be okay. Instinct then shows the huffy attitude of being told it's all okay because freaking out is instinct's job description. They are constantly tugging at me. Just try to ignore everything but breathing and pace your breathing;. And see your Doc. Good luck. Did it just start recently? Oh, and I have problems eating and my food gets stuck in the wrong place. I just press the area above my belly button, near the solar plex, and "pop" it comes on out. Everyone is right about slowing down eating and chewing thoroughly. You'll be fine

I'd talk with the doc and get a referral to a speech therapist who can review and analyze your swallowing. My guess is there are many things that might help and a speech therapist will know most of them.

Yes so I eat very slowly in very small bites. Feel like I am a toddler. The pill thing is an issue too.
