Copd And Rain
Does anyone have trouble with copd when it rains and it’s chilly?

As you can see, many of us do experience Respiratory issues in different weather conditions and the answer is simple - WATER. Can you think of any weather condition we have that does not involve Water? Our bodies - especially the Lungs - contains mostly water.
I won't make this a weather class, but here's the skinny on the COLD effect. Cold air holds less water vapor and is usually at a lower air pressure. This is usually a blue circle on the weather map and moves across the states very slowly. Low pressure keeps the lungs from exhaling vigorously - what we need to take in more fresh air the next time we inhale. Usually being dry air, the lungs kinda reject what we did inhale and the process starts to feel uncomfortable - Real quick.! We call that Shortness of Breath (SoB).
But just like everything else in Life - too much of anything can be a BAD thing if we can't control it. That is HUMIDITY in the Rain in this case. Rolling the window down a smidge will create a breeze will soothes your breathing cycles while riding in a car. Your mileage will vary on other outside activities. I often just stay home, inside. They are called RAINY days for a reason.🤔
My secret is this: Stay HYDRATED. Have a full portion of some liquid a short while before you leave home. Carry a bottle of water with you. Plan to make a pit stop when you get there.
I see you're in the Midwest. It seems like our weathermen are always singing the same tune. Here's a song for Today if it makes you feel better. Gotta GO! 🏁. The phone is ringing off the hook with all the Medicare calls today!
Be well.

I really don't mind cold, it is more a challenge in the bathroom with heat and humidity, seem to need more oxygen then. Although when it gets below zero outside, have to use a mask or it really hurts the lungs. Everyone reacts differently to the same stimuli, so you will get a range of responses on this question.
Yes I do and really I can not explain it but when it’s raining I have a bad breathing day and you would think with rain being relaxing it would be the opposite
hello that's when it effects me most is in the cold & damp weather
