Has Anyone Had A Lobectomy To Remove Cancer And Then Been Diagnosed With Emphasema?

I have emphysema and had a lobectomy to remove it; then radiation. I was very careful with the radiation because radiation can further damage the lungs. My radiologist was very mindful of that when he planned the radiation. I doubt very much that your lobectomy had anything to do with your emphysema diagnosis. How was the basis of that diagnosis of emphysema? A CT scan or x-ray? If so, be sure to consult a pulmonologist because many CT scans will mention something about emphysema and a lot of the time, it means nothing.
