Daliresp (Roflumilast)
Has anyone used this. How did you do on it. I just started today, side effects seem intense
I have been taking Daliresp for several years. It is a really effective drug for COPD. I started on the lower dose as recommended, and I still had issues with diarrhea for about a month or 6 weeks. I almost quit taking it because of it because of that, but then the stomach issues just went away. After the initial stomach distress - once my body got used to it - it no longer troubles me. On the plus side, I lost a bunch of weight that I needed to lose during that time of stomach upset! It may not affect you that way, but if it does, know that that side effect should go away - at least it did with me. My husband is convinced Daliresp is what helped him get better. He improved so much that when my doctor prescribed it for me I was excited and hopeful that it would do the same for me. It is one of our more expensive medications, but our insurance covers most of the cost. There is a generic now that is not expensive but I have not switched - yet.
If you were prescribed the 500 mg dosage, the digestive issues can be daunting. A better bet is to start with the 250 mg dosage for at least a month and then go to the 500. Daliresp is a very effective med in decreasing exacerbations.
Used it for one month. Suddenly became anxious depressed & tearful. Doc said it's a pretty common side effect. Research it & be aware
