My Partner Is In Stage 4 COPD His Eyesight And Hearing Is Diminishing. He's Curious If Anyone Else With COPD Is Having This Happen.
Some of our inhalers can have side effects that can affect both eyesight and hearing. Talk with your pulmonologist and your ophthalmologist and hearing consultant regarding the meds you take and the issues you're having. Some of them could be related to meds and some to other things, but you should find out.
I agree with what @A MyCOPDTeam Member wrote, @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Many times, the inflammation in our bodies which aggravates our COPD also contributes to other comorbidities.
For eyesight issues, check for cataracts which are a common side effect of inhaler use and normal aging. Costco has a great low-cost eye exam program which includes photographing the eye, and can allow for tracking issues over time.
While long term use or abuse of many opioid type medications for pain relief can drastically impact hearing, it might also be a normal part of aging, too. As with its other healthcare initiatives, Costco also has an excellent low-cost hearing test department, and may be able to help your partner figure out cause, effect and low-cost hearing aids.
Hoping this answer helps. Hugs.

Some of it can be from the medications we take, especially when it effects your eyesight. Have a chat with your specialist to see if surgery is an option for you.
