While there are some legitimate studies by reputable research centers regarding stem cells and COPD, there are to date no studies showing that stem cells make any significant changes in COPD. Go to www.clinicaltrials.gov to see what studies are being done. Stem cells research has been very successful in a number of areas, but the lungs remain a pretty tough nut to crack. Some of the current studies are very basic and studies at this basic cellular level may be the basis for future research.
