I Don't Cough Or Have Mucus Problems, Does That Always Happen With COPD?

Coughing and mucus are probably the main contributors to breathing discomfort with our condition. IT took me a while to get to a point where the mucus was reduced enough to keep coughing to a minimum as well. Staying hydrated was my key tool to reduce mucus when it forms
Consider yourself blessed. Now you can focus on any other symptoms which also limit you like shortness of breath (SoB) sensitivity to smell or allergens, or any nasal infections which can affect breathing too. You're in a good place. The goal is to stay there.

No. It's generally the chronic bronchitis that creates mucus and requires techniques to remove the mucus. It can also be bronchiectasis, which is a horse of a slightly different color. You should talk with your pulmonologist to see whether bronchiectasis plays any part in your mucus production.

No, I do not believe it happens all the time. I think it depends if you have chronic bronchitis, emphysema or asthma. I have emphysema and chronic bronchitis which does cause mucus and coughing helps to remove the mucus.
