Your doc should have prescribed one flow for just sitting around and another for when you're exerting yourself. You need to get an oximeter so you can titrate your own O2 based on what your O2 saturation levels are. If you're just sitting and watching TV, you won't need nearly as much O2 as you will when you're up and moving around or when you're really exerting yourself. Some docs actually run you through your paces during the six minute walk test so they can get an idea of your actual needs for real-world activity. Talk with your doc about titrating your own O2 depending on what your oximeter says. My arrangement with my pulmo is that he wants my O2 saturation levels between 92 and 97 and he really doesn't care how I achieve that. I can titrate what I need based on what my oximeter tells me and how I feel. I don't use O2 at all when I'm at home in my apartment and more when I'm going distances or exercising or hauling in groceries.

Depends I’m on 1.5 as I’m a retainer of carbon dioxide any higher and no ventilator would kill me
