I too use O2 while sleeping at night. When I used my regular cannula I had a terrible time keeping it in my nose. I now use an Oxy Mask. an O2 adult mask. This seems to work great. Took a couple of nights to get used to ut. Now I love it. If I need to have something I prefer this.

Your Mother might have found sleeping with the O2 uncomfortable and it may take several days to get used to it. Give it some time and see whether things don't improve.

Taking periodic measurements with a pulse oximeter during the night won't give you an accurate picture of what's happening. You should, instead, ask for an overnight oximetry test which is very simple to complete. Your Mother will wear an oximeter that will transmit data to the provider for evaluation. It will show if there are problems with O2 levels during the night.

Depends on her situation, @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Do you have a pulse oximeter (finger gauge) that allows you to measure her oxygen saturation levels?

If not, I’d talk to her doc about when to take periodic measurements to track whether or not the supplemental oxygen is doing what it’s supposed to. Hugs to you.
