The zinc, Vit D3, C and A were prescribed by my doc. After taking them, my blood test went back to normal after recording some deficiencies earlier. As to NAC, it was not prescribed but my doc said it was OK to take it along with vit C. Listed side effects when taken in large amounts are nausea, vomiting and constipation. Does it help, from my own experience it helps with the mucus loosening.

Both the nebulized medication and your Symbicort contain bronchodilators, though they work on different ways on different receptors in the bronchial airways and in the lungs; basically they open up the airways. The steroid component in the Symbicort is designed to reduce the chronic inflammation in your lungs.

To find the side effects, simply google the name of the medication and you'll find all the side effects you'll ever want to know about. Remember that drug manufacturers are reqruired to list anything that happened to anyone in the trial as a side effect, but there's no requirement that ANYONE determine whether the med caused the side effect. It's always interesting to see what "side effects" the placebo group reported: sometimes those are almost the same as what the group that actually got the med reported. Tells you a lot.........

I. was in a Pulmonary Rehab last year, started out with pneumonia, plus my copd----I was given Vitamin C, B-12, D3 - have not been sick since, fingers crossed! I recently added Zinic, which my Doctor said was good. I do 3 liquids with my nebulizer too. Ventolin inhaler also.
