Does Anyone Suffer Loss Of Intimacy In Their Marriage Due To COPD
This might seem strange coming from a man in his 70s,but somehow a lot more suffer but to ashame to bring it up.Here goes.
My wife and I have talked about this and both of us agree our sex/intimacy has diminished to the extent we don't it share anymore. We want to get back to intimacy not full blown sex. Any suggestions where to start.
If this question upsets anyone I apologise for it
Just cuddling can be very intimate and doesn't have to be sexual. Just holding each other is important, whether in bed or not. Sharing a blanket and watching a movie on the couch while doing a little mild necking can be great (after popcorn!). Use your imagination and I think you'll find that you can be intimate in a lot of different ways. And if you're interested, there are ways to have sex that work for people with COPD or other limiting conditions. Go to www.copdfoundation.org and click on learn more.
Excellent suggestions for sure. Hugs, cuddling and say "I love you " daily is very important. Also keeping a sense of humor in a relationship is important too. Wish I had done and said that more.
A great question @A MyCOPDTeam Member and great answers. Intimacy to me is also internal, that wonderful feeling we get when we talk, share our thoughts and feelings with affection and caring. Yes, touch, caressing, cuddling and holding hands is essential as well as humor! Let your loved one know you love him and hugs, hugs, hugs!β€
