End Stage 4 Copd, Just Got Out Of The Hospital And Are Home On Hospice. I Feel So Helpless And Useless, Is This Normal?

Actually, it is. Having been really ill leaves you weak as a kitten, and having hospice help, while it's really good for you, probably makes you feel even more helpless. Remember, the hospice people are there to help you be as comfortable as possible. One of the things you'll probably want to do is to begin to get stronger, even as you're in bed. Ask them to help you find things you can do that will make you stronger; exercises you can actually do when you're in bed. Even if they tire you out, they will be good for you. If you'll be more comfortable going to the bathroom on your own, work on that first. Maybe there's something else that you'd prefer to work on, but choose something and then start, very slowly. You will get stronger but it's a slow process.

On hospice myself and i know the feeling i hate having to have people to walk with ugh but hang on to what makes you smile and were here if you need to talk

@A MyCOPDTeam Member is right in some ways hospice is nice gotta take the good with the bad they arrange just about everything for me evan hooked me up with pysical therapy
