Even Tho My Oxygen Level Is Fairly Good I Still Feel That It Is Still Hard To Breath? What Can I Do To Make It Easier?
Pulmonary rehab also worked for me
Hi Diane, Just turned on the laptop and discovered your response to our question and will practice the diaphragmatic breathing technique. I have been having such a hard time breathing today.....yesterday was a great day......it's like an ever-changing roller coaster.
Thanks so much for your help, hoping that it will make a difference, it may take a bit before it works but it's certainly worth the try!
In addition to PLB I use diaphragmatic breathing at the same time. A lot of times when we get short of breath we begin to panic. At least I did. Then we begin shoulder/chest breathing.
Here is a web site to demonstrate. It makes you focus on your breathing and not your inability to breathe.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member.....PLB....I believe it stands for Purse Lip Breathing. Inhale through the nose, then exhale slowly through pursed lips.
Learn to do PLB until it's the way you breathe normally. That will help. Talk with your docs about beginning an exercise program or pulmonary rehab. That will help the lung function you have become much more efficient and you will be able to do a lot more with less effort. Work hard on developing those big muscles in the legs; that will make a huge difference.
