Advair 500/50 Diskus. Has Anyone Else Had Ones That DO Not Work?

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Columbia, MO

I opened a new one 3 days ago that is within the good dates... and by yesterday I was breathless and considering going to the hospital. That's when I realized that diskus had NO taste either. SO at 4 am this morning I considered going to the hospital but decided instead to do another neb treatment and OPEN another diskus.. and try that. At 8 am I took my regular meds and another hit of Advair, and Tudorza as usual and its now close to 3pm and I feel Oh so much better.. breathing better… read more

The pharmacist checked it and indeed it was not working correctly.. It is being replaced and the company was very good about it! Definitely not the first time b ut it is rare..

I've been using Advair for years and have never gotten a disk that wasn't full. I'd send it directly back to the manufacturer (address should be on the package or in the description that accompanies the disk in the box). They need to be aware. The other possibility would be to take it back to the pharmacy where you got it. One way or another, they need to know: you're right about that!

Hi, Sewgreat1. Sorry you're having this problem. I've used Advair Diskus 500/50 for quite a few years and never had that problem. Although it's a pain when it happens to you, any kind of product is going to have the occasional defect, though I hope they keep a closer watch on medications than other things. Did you at least get a new Diskus to replace the defective one?

Iv mot experienced this, but I would call your pharmacist or wherever meds come from.

Tell them of the problem and see what they can do.

If a whole discus is defective, they should replace in short order. There could be a whole batch of more that are bad.

That's too expensive for us as consumers to replace.

Just a thought.

Breathe easy and hugs to you

Prayers and blessings
