If your prescription is not on your carrier's formulary, and it is a critical prescription for you, you can request your carrier to add it to their list of covered medications. The worst that can happen is that they say no... The best that can happen is that they agree, and your costs go down dramatically They will not give you an answer right away, and they will make you try other less costly brands first. But if nothing works for you, except the name brand, they may add it for you. Another option I've used is my primary doctor. Because one of my critical inhalers is still not covered, my doctor has been giving me samples for the past 1-1/2 years.... I PRAY that he does not drop my insurance provider, because I don't know what I would do then. But he, and his staff, understand the need and the outrageous costs. This particular inhaler costs more than $400/month. As for my oxygen and nebulizer treatments..... My insurance carrier provides all that at No Cost to me, including the oxygen concentrators (home and travel). Hope this gives you some options, and that your costs can be reduced to make it more affordable for you.

My carrier is Humana monthly rate affordable but my cost for copd inhalers would be over a 100.00 a month even chantix cost me 80.00 a month I think tobacco companies should pay for our meds

You can go here: https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/questions/... and enter your prescriptions, zipcode and preferred pharmacies and get prices on plans available to you along with your out of pocket costs to pick the cheapest option for your drug plan. It is open enrollment now so it is a good time to switch plans if you need to!

I have Express script and my drug cost was fairly cheap until I got into the Donut Hole, it's time to apply directly to the drug companies for my drugs. I do it as a hardship case which it really is and they have helped me for over 3yrs.
