COPD And Cat Litter Dust
Lately I wondered if the 30+ years of having 1 or 2 cats - and dealing with the dust from their cat litter - contributed to my COPD, not to mention their dander. I've been "cat free" since I moved from Las Vegas in 2015. Not my choice but couldn't keep my Fur Baby when I moved here. My current apt has "No Pets Allowed" policy.
For people with COPD who do have cats, it's usually suggested/recommended that someone else clean the litter boxes so that the person with COPD doesn't inhale the dust.
@Mgl1979Hello we use the pine and a new darker pellet meant for urine as well as the clay yes three trays no waiting ha ha. There are plus and minus the pine and the darker pellets can be composted the clay is buried out back ! In a sense it is being composted as well ! For me it is odor which is handled very well cost can be a lot oh ! Well we love the cats !
So hard to give up company of your fur babies after a life-time of their companionship, but hopefully your health improves to balance it out
We as well went to a better dustless cat litter Anna figures the cats like it as well !
I have stage 3 COPD and with 3 cats, I could not breathe around the dust from clay litter. I changed to the pine pellets and no more issues!
