After smoking about 1 ppd for almost 45 years, I was able to quit smoking 3 months ago. Started immediately with Vaping, and have not nor do I have the desire to smoke ! I don’t even miss it.....! I was diagnosed with mild C.O.P.D. in 2010 and its now moderate obviousely because I took so long to quit. I started vaping at 12 mg nicotine, am now at 6 ready to go to 3 and then 0 then I’m done. Karen, try backing down from pure vaping and use an e-cigarette like MarkTen oe V-2. They mimic real cigarettes and can be bought without flavor (regular or menthol) but other flavors are available.

Both my pulmonologist and oncologist signed off on my use of e-cigs. I use them daily and have for a few years. My Stage IV COPD is no worse and I have no issues related to the e-cigs. You just may be vaping too much that is the root of your symptoms. I was a 2 pack a day smoker but even then I was not constantly smoking, but I found with e-cigs I was using them almost constantly.

It seems like moderation was not a common attribute of us COPD peeps in our pre-diagnosis days.

Vaping e cigs ok not the best thing either but I can tell you it is a good way to get off the cigarettes that have all the carcinogens. I used it to get off cigarettes heavy smoker and the stuff I was coughing up after stopping smoking was disgusting. I am down to one milligram would be able to stop. Went through withdrawal as well stopping the actual cigarettes it was terrible. I agree vaping is not a good thing but helps get off those cigarettes which is worse than vaping. Goal is to get off the e cigs now

Ronnusto......got it right! Vaping too much was the problem! My doctor also said that vaping is much better than cigarettes. But he recommended it short term. I met someone who was bedridden from emphysema. After 2 weeks of vaping instead of smoking, he was riding a bicycle! He also said moderation.😉
