Do We Need A Pnemonia Shot Each Year?

I too am on prednizone daily and get all shots with no problems except soreness at in jection site. My doctor tells me to be sure to get them, especially flu shot.

Flue shots every year; pneumonia shots once for each one after 65.

I think they have a new pneumonia shot these days. I have been getting them every year. Going to check on that this week. Walmart Pharmacy has been advertising around the store. Rather be safe than sorry. I will see my pulm doc on the 31st will check with her first.

A pneumonia shot is supposed to be every ten years according to my doctor. Def not every year. A flu shot every year but not really sure how good those are anymore.

My GP said after the first shot I need one every 5 years and that's what I have been having,but last year I ended up getting a rare strain due to my immune system not working as my bone marrow is not producing blood cells an I have to have two units of packed cells every three weeks to keep me going.Thats on top of only having 10% lung capacity left,
