Should I Install Wall To Wall Carpeting Or Hard Wood Flooring?
Hi, I am having a bedroom built at my sister's house and was wondering which would be better. I have COPD and lung function is below 14%. My dilemma is carpeting or hard wood flooring? I do have 2 kitties that do shed, so I'm leaning towards hard wood, as it would be easier to clean and better for my health as I think carpeting would hold more dust, dander and allergens. Thanks ahead for your thoughts!!
I have vinyl
Carpet not good
It holds every bug and germ
I even got rid of all cloth furniture
Now all leather
No carpeting. Wooden floors are so much better for us with COPD. Sorry to say but cats are also not good for us, sad as it may be. Nor are feather pillows.
I have bamboo hardwood I would have a terrible time breathing with carpeting. No matter how clean you keep it it holds pet dander, dust particles and mites. There is also the chemical they use to produce it i believe even the cotton or wool carpets have some kind of strain resistant on it to help avoid stains. I wouldn't trust carpeting at all. I would suggest being very careful. Possibly call your care team. Hugs and Good Luck
i live in a camper and we took out the carpet and put dow parke flooring tiles and im glad i did because now that im sick i dont have to push around a vacuum cleaner easier to sweep or use a floor vac definitely go with hardwood
Thank you, and sadly I know about about the cats….:(
