I Am Only Newly Diagnosed With COPD And Now Have Developed Indigestion For The First Time In My Life.
Could it be effects from COPD or the medication I'm taking (Spiriva)?
I had acid reflux and didn't know that it went along with COPD. I have not had it since I lay mostly on my left side. Here is where I got my information: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/the-best-... Good luck Bettina and happy breathing! (((hugs)))
I had been using omeprazole for a few years but was still suffering from refluxing particularly at night.
Since I started taking apple cider vinegar in water daily, a number of my unpleasant COPD side effects quickly reduced to almost zero. Including reflux, cramping, dry mouth etc.
I now have a bag full of prescription drugs I no longer seem to need almost out of date and subsequently have not called them down from my repeats for some months now. I hear good things about coconut oil too but it has a massive laxative effect on me so I'll stick with the apple cider vinegar. Pity it doesn't help with the shortness of breath though.
Happy days, keeping the faith.
I got a prescription for Esomeprazole capsules (Noxicid) - works brilliantly and you just take one capsule a day. It's better because it prevents acid reflux rather than being something you take after you feel the awful pain.
Yes I have reflux too. Doctor prescribed Omeprazole 20 mg capsules taken as required.
I also use a wedge pillow to raise my upper body and always try to lie on my right hand side.
However, since I started taking a TSP of raw apple cider vinegar twice a day in water my refux has reduced to almost zero. Plus a number of other symptoms and side effects associated with the condition and meds taken for it have simply stopped.
So I have a large bag of prescription meds that are now surplus to requirements.
Hope things getting easier
