COPD is an umbrella term that includes both emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It also includes some other related conditions like bronchiectasis and a couple of others. The story with the nodule is that it doesn't belong in your lung and they need to check it again to see if it's growing. For many of us, nodules are not anything to worry about. I have a bunch, but none of them grow. It's when they grow that you have to worry.

Yes they say I have emphysema that is what goes with copd. I just had a Ct as I have nodule as I have had them for a while one has gone and the other is the same they check me every 6months.They are trying me on this spray called stiolto its a spray 2puffs a day its only been out since June 2015 I have been on it since September it really helps I can do a lot more than I use to and le4ss oxygen

I was just diagnosed with 2.5 cm nodule
in left lung had 2 CT scans then a PET Scan. Dr said if the areas with active cell growth lit up then it cld be cancer. Mine lti up along with 2 lymph nodes on bronchial. Had biopsy done on lymph nodes and they showrd no cancer. I have opted to wait 3 months then have CT scan to see if nodule has grown. If it did then I wld seek further treatment. I've never been told I have emphysema. But I find the doctor doesn't tell me everything! Best of luck to u. Keep watch and bless u.

I also have emphysema and have a nodule, I get a low CT scan once a year so far it has never grown. My doc says not to worry as long as I get the ct'so once a year
