I Keep Getting Water Build Up In My O2 Hose. I Have Tried Everything That The Oxygen Provider Has Suggested To Try And Stop It. Help!!
Need help in stopping water accumulating in my O2 hose from water bottle attached to concentrator. I am already using the minimum amount of water in bottle and even a water trap, and still get water in my hose. We have had to completely change all hoses twice in one day, and this is becoming very frustrating. I am currently on 4 liters of O2, so need the moisture to keep my sinuses from drying out and becoming so sore you can't touch them.
Ok, here's what works for me. The water bottle sits on top of the concentrator and stays warm from contact with the running machine. Warm air on our cold floor causes condensation. I put the water bottle in one of those insulated sleeves that keep a beer cold. Problem seems to be solved. Cooler water - no condensation.
3 feet from concentrator, but water in the line is from condensation not your water bottle. Use an insulated cup holder in your water bottle.
I drape my hose (winter only) over doorknobs, chairs, etc. to keep it off the floor; thus avoiding condensation in the line.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member just how do you keep your hose up off the floor. ( me scratching my head) I am using a product called Ayr to try and keep my sinuses moist, it is a gel of sorts. Not on a Cpap machine, only using a concentrator , but 24/7 now. I youst to be able to sleep without it until last may, and that suddenly changed. That is why I am being evaluated for lung transplant..
Do You use the water bottle to keep You sinuses moist? I did and was having the same problem You've described. I quit using that and started applying Vicks to My nose for moisture. The water in the line is gone and My nose smells medicated, which is fine with Me considering the alternative. :)
