I keep diet 7-up in the refrigerator at all times. When I feel cramped or tightness under my ribs, a swallow or two of 7-up relieves me--it's cheaper than prilosec and it works for me!

I get something like that. It is just like when my leg cramps up but it is in my upper abdomen area. It takes my breath & doubles me over. I just have to be still until it lets go.
Don't know if that is what you get & I don't know what caused it. Hmmm

I too have experienced something similar to what you discribed. Usually after a period of bad coughing. The stretching of the rib cage also helped me. So i was pretty sure it was cramping of the muscle in the rib cage, caused from the coughing attacks. But maybe this is something you should talk to your doctor qbout. There have been cases, when due to hard coughing, a rib was actually cracked. Could that give a feeling like a grabbing......don't know. I think if you gently try stretching and you find it becomes even more painful, stop, for sure talk to yiu doctor. Wishing you only the best, and am keeping you in my prayers. God Bless.
