Alternative Meds
My insurance will no longer cover Spiriva or Pro-Air after the first of the year. The alternatives to choose from will be Incruse Ellipta and for rescue..Ventolin or Xopenex. Anyone here using these at all?? Looking forward to your replies.... Thanks !!
I've tried just about every medicine they have for COPD and the only one that works is Spariva. But as of the first of the year, Medicare stopped paying, so my Dr put me on Breo, which was about as good as puffing corn starch. So my Dr. put in an over ride with Medicare saying I needed Spariva, and that I had used and tried the alternatives and none of them worked. Without Spariva I can't walk from my bedroom to my kitchen in my trailer, without stopping to catch my breath. (I think that was the key) and they approved it. Just have your Dr. do the same over ride for you.
Pro air is all i use. Two to four times a . Formotors make my throat swell. Oxygen 24/7 . Just now getting medicare. Age57 no medical help. Southern hospitality
I use ventalin all the time
I actually prefer Ventolin to Proair, they are both albuterol but the inhaler works better. I don't know anything about the others. I take Spiriva, Symbicort, Ventolin, and albuterol in my nebulizer. There is also a program here that will help with some meds, you have to apply for it. Please do contact the pharmaceutical companies too!
