Need Help On Something Helpful For Snoring
My husband says I am snoring really loud
Any suggestions on what to do or buy. I am going to do a sleep study not sure I can wear the mask.
I snore badly also and have sleep apnea diagnosed in 2010. I never go to sleep without my APAP. I get so much more air into my body and actually feel pretty good in the morning. It does take some getting used to, but I don't even realize that I'm wearing my mask anymore. Don't give up wearing it. It will make a difference. Peace and Hugs.
APAP is an automated CPAP. It varies the pressure by your breathing. Here's an excerpt I found: APAP machines are able to automatically adjust to different pressure settings between your low range and high range settings. This is great because most people don't have the same breathing needs throughout the night. The APAP machine can lower its pressure settings when you roll onto your side when apnea events are less likely to occur, and raise the pressure when you roll onto your back where apnea events are much more likely."
Personally I do not notice any difference during the night, but I guess that it helps without knowing about it.
May or not help, but try a wedge pillow or elevated head to sleep?
Once you've had your sleep study, you'll know what's recommended and can begin to review the various alternatives then. If you're really curious you might just google c-pap machines and begin to do some research. There are differences between machines and masks. Finding the right mask is often a major trial and error process. If the C-pap will make a difference in your sleep, I encourage you to work really hard to learn to use it. It will make a huge difference in quality of life. Sleep apnea can also cause death.
Merry Christmas
Raise the head of your bed up so you sleep at an angle
Masks have come a long way
