Tryung Sample Of Tudorza Inhaler

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Winchester, VA

My pulmonary dr gave me a sample of Tudorza inhaler to try. I've been using it for a couple weeks, but not sure it's making a difference. Was wondering if others are using and what has been your experience. I just hate taking medications if I don't feel they are helpful.

Tudorza is a twice a day med that does the same thing as Spiriva. Some formularies only offer one or the other. You may not notice a difference with either of them until you stop taking them. That's when most people realize that they really do make a huge difference.

According to my doctor and the internet they're identical medication-wise except for the delivery system.

Thank you, Jean. Am considering switching to the Spiriva Respimat rather than the Handihaler. I tried one sample and it seems more convenient; however it was pre-loaded for me by the doctor so I've yet to figure that out with the second sample. Comes with an installation video! Same medication, just the ease of use and maybe more assurance I'm getting the complete inhalation.

I tried Tudorza. It isn't in my Formulary so had to get it pre-authorized. Didn't seem to do anything more for me than Spriva HandiHaler, but was easier to use. Am never certain I'm getting the full dose with Spriva. Decided to stay with Spiriva because I didn't feel like going through all the pre-authorization renewals for Tudorza with no noticeable improvement.

You're right, Jean. I tried skipping Spiriva off and on, and it does make a difference. I'm on Tudorza and prefer it to Spiriva because it seems to be a more efficient delivery system, but it is so expensive!
