What Breathing Tests Did Your Doctor Do To Diagnose COPD?
spirometer and then a full lung function test where they put you in the little booth and run a variety of test.
You can't pass or fail a spirometry or Pulmonary Function Test; that's not the way they work. Every time you have one, ask for a copy of the results and for someone to explain them to you in detail. Don't leave until you understand what the test says about your condition at the time of the test.
Then you need to ask how the meds you've been prescribed are going to help you and what else the doc suggests you do: pulmonary rehab, lose weight, get a flu shot or pneumonia shot, use your nebulizer more, try a new med. Make the most of your appointments and get the most information you can.
