My Oxygen Keeps Dropping As Low As 83 And Then Climbing Back Up, Sometimes As High As 99. My Doctors Act Like I’m Wasting Their Time.
I have COPD, stage 2 at my last breathing test which was a year ago.
Hi Lisa. I don't want to sound dismissive too but applaud you for advocating for yourself. I too dislike that doctors are hurried and leave patients informed.
That said, low Oxygen levels can be caused by many things, including circulation and heart issues. Just think: You could not have been an "over-smoker" at your young age! 😉 The Stage-2 diagnosis confirms that. Due to 30+ years smoking, I never got to experience stage 2 and went strait to stage 3 or 4. I think there's other than just lung issues going on for you.
Keep pressing your Doc(s) to find other causes for the low O2 levels so you can have an accurate medication, nutrition and activity schedule to keep you on the Sunny-side of Life. 🌞
be Well
Makes more sense to me now, Thanks for sharing! My DOC emphasized early on that PULMONARY includes the Lungs and Heart systems - Together! The little finger-thingy reminds me of that when I am Short Of Breath (SOB) and feeling poorly, it is usually the Heart-rate side of the device that is OFF the Charts!
KEEP Fighting for YOU!!
Thank you. I think you’re right, RollandO. I was told I’ve got mild aortic regurgitation years ago, the doctors know this, but as my ECGs have been okay, they won’t send me for a heart scan. I’m in the UK and unfortunately it’s really difficult to get any further than the GP. I need to fight a little harder. I hope todays a good breathing day for you all xx
83 is too low. Hope you can find the right doctor.
Can you see a different Doctor there must be a reason your oxygen levels keep dropping like that im stage 4 my oxygen drops into the 80s but not often it be something or nothing but a doctor should ask questions and sort It out so you know
