What you've done makes sense to me. By cutting the 10 mg tabs in half, you've gone from 4 mgs to 5 mg. You can increase to 10 if you need to. Let your doc know what you're doing.

I don't take Prednisone unless I have an infection, so I can't answer your question, although I agree to discuss anything you do with your doctor. If you have Asthma overlap, I've read Dupixent may be approved for people with COPD. It's gone through the clinical trials, evidently, and doesn't contain steroid. I have a friend who uses it for her asthma. I've been on a steroid inhaler for a year, and while I don't love the idea of using a steroid, my doctor thinks I need it to keep exacerbations at bay. Hi @A MyCOPDTeam Member. I've been given emergency steroids to keep for the occasion I might get a chest infection. I am taking 6 x 5 mg tablets daily for a week to start with. If it's not clear, with the course of antibiotics for the week, I'm to go back to him. I'm taking Prednisolone. I've not had any side effects from previous courses and in fact I've been clear since 2018 with no deterioration.
