I Am Confused About Oximeter Readings. My Old One Registers 97, My New One 92. Why Is This Happening?
Cold fingers is also a possibility as is nail polish; both can muddle readings. Cleaning them is also a good thing to do. Remember that all oximeters measure within 3 points + or -. If you use different fingers you might get different readings. It could also be that one of the oximeters you're using is medically calibrated and the other isn't. To check them you might take them to your doc's office and see which one comes closest to the reading they get.
Haha, way to go, @A MyCOPDTeam Member, if it don't fit, get a new one! And who knows, it might be a good morale booster!!
My oximeter is usually between 94-97 so I can not complain @A MyCOPDTeam Member! I bought a new one that reads higher so I will go by that one!!🤣 Not always accurate. Take care and good luck!!🙏
Good advice @A MyCOPDTeam Member and @A MyCOPDTeam Member!! Thank you!👍
I have found the cheeper ones don't read as accurately. I also know you get different numbers on different fingers.
