Needing Nighttime Oxygen

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
Rochester, NY

I had an over night pulse oximeter test done. With my cpap my oxygen levels were at 84 for 4 hours. My pulmonologist said I need oxygen with my cpap. My question is, what would my oxygen levels be when I'm sleeping with oxygen?

You want your 02 sats to be well over 88. People without lung disease have 02 saturation levels between 95 and 99. That's a good place for yours to be. Jael is right that it will depend on how many liters per minute your pulmonologist prescribes for you. In order to be sure the liters per minute prescribed are adequate, you'll need to do another overnight oximetry test.

I guess that would depend on the amount of oxygen the pulmo puts you on, wouldn't it?
