I have not had LVRS (Lung Volume Reduction Surgery), but I have a number of friends who have had the surgery. My first question is why the surgery, not not the valves; the valves don't require major surgery and LVRS does. Valves are a lot easier on the patient. Second, how many has the surgeon done; how many had problems; how many didn't survive? What are the most common complications? I would hope that you'd covered those prior to this point, but those are the things I'd be concerned about.

What exactly is this LVRS surgery?
