@throut ...........buy ALKALOL at your pharmacy. It is a mucus solvent . I have written about it here many times but no one seem to see it or use it or mention it. THIS WORKS. You can gargle with it and it will loosen what is in you throat. You can use it with a nasal douche or a netti pot for your nose and it will clear you up to breathe through your nose. Especially useful if you use oxygen. Use equal parts of alkalol & water.
Good luck. I hope you do this and let me know how it works for you. You will not regret it. I use it several times a day. Worth it's weight in gold !!

Please note that Mucinex can and usually does cause diarrhea..(as you will lose some of the mucosa from the bowels)...Sometimes people forget that this happens. Have you tried Tumeric and honey and also Pineapple sticks to lesson the mucus and also help control your coughing. Breath Easy...

My respiratory therapist told me to say H U F F as I exhale as hard as I can about 3 times in a row. It vibrates the airways and loosens things up so you can cough it out. They also recommend postural draining by laying down in different directions. ie. on your left side, then right side and if possible to lay with your head lower than your hips, gravity will help with draining. I have access to an inversion table that I can use for this purpose. They also recommend drinking a lot of water to help keep the mucus thin.

I also gargle warm salt or baking soda water which sometimes works. Are you using an acapella? A breathing unit made for getting up mucus from the units vibrational pull. Online is cheaper than oxygen vendor
