If yoiu take it in the morning, its for allergies. Taken at night its for asthma. I take it at night. I don't have allergies. Singulair is a dual symptom drug.

And yes, I use the generic Montelukast. It's exactly the same, just a lot less expensive.

I take singular before bedtime. That's probably why I was able to go so long without my inhaled meds.
